World Food Day 2019

Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Being hungry means more than just missing a meal. It’s a debilitating crisis affecting one in eight of the world's population - many of these being children suffering chronic hunger and malnutrition.

On the 16th of October each year we celebrate World Food Day and support the campaign dedicated to tackling global hunger. The statistics are alarming, and with pause for thought it is hard to comprehend that across the world around 9 million people die of hunger and hunger-related diseases every year.

World Food Day 2018

Tuesday, October 16, 2018

Today is World Food Day - the birthday of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

The global celebration honours the common goal: a world free from hunger and poverty.

Every day over 800 million people are chronically undernourished and struggle to get any food at all facing the threat of starvation. That’s more than the inhabitants of Indonesia, the USA and Pakistan put together.
