With only 5 days left until the 25th Edition of Decorex Joburg, our four contestants in the Franke Kitchen Trends Project are now in the final stages of creating their showstopper kitchen installations.

Over the course of the show which runs from 8 to 12 August, each of the four kitchen models will be assessed by representatives from Franke and the Kitchen Specialists’ Association (KSA) with the winning team taking home R15,000.00 worth of Franke products.

“The Franke Kitchen Trends Project is always an incredibly popular show feature as it expresses the best of the industry’s kitchen trends, styles and appliances in four completely diverse settings,” explained Franke SA’s National Sales Manager, Clinton Soutter. “This year will be a particularly poignant display as the exhibitors will want to capture the essence of this 25-year-old exhibition while also portraying the modern trends that are warming up kitchens across the country.”

Kitchen design company CHC Kitchens will be participating in the Franke Kitchen Trends Project for the first time this year and we are excited to see their installation.

Based in Ferndale Randburg, CHC Kitchens was established 24 years ago and specialise in designer kitchens of all design styles from old-world classical to sleek and modern, city chic to country cozy.

The designer team at CHC Kitchens were particularly enticed to take the challenge of participating in this year’s Franke Kitchen Trends Project when they learnt that the theme would be “An Expression of Colour”.

Franscois Engels, owner of CHC Kitchens explained that they love to use colour and texture and particularly enjoy a mix of masculine, strong and bold grey or black tones in a matt finish. This is contrastingly beautiful against a more feminine marble or Calacatta-like polished stone for use of worktops, splash panels or down stands.

They also love mixing finishes! Velvet-like matt finishes create beautiful dimension with polished surfaces, and the use of rough & rustic wooden finishes with gorgeous grains & knots & you have yourself a lively yet neutral & warm space that speaks of elegance and timelessness.

“Our visitors can expect to be not only intrigued but also blown away at the clever use of materials, colours, textures, light & shadow, depth & dimension. A well-rounded example of the ultimate kitchen or living space.” Franscois

If you’re a décor enthusiast or are looking for ideas to renovate your kitchen be sure not to miss the show which runs from the 8 to 12 August. Tickets are available at https://bit.ly/2r13MNe or at the door.
